Forharriet.com shares the psychological issues that African American community struggles, alongside the lack of true Black doll representation in the toy aisles.
It is definitely an eye opening article in regards to stats of the journey and presence of Black dolls in the toy industry. She also mentions the Clarks' doll test, that showed the psychological effects it has on some Black children still preferring the lighter and white dolls.
The key takeaway from this article is to remember true representation matters if we look to change how we as the Black community view our beauty.
